Getting started

What do I need? An iPhone with iOS 18.6 or later and a Polar H10 chest strap. Sleep insights need sleep data from an Apple Watch in Apple Health. Weight trends use weigh-ins from Apple Health, for example, from a smart scale.

How do I take the morning reading? Right after waking up, before coffee or training: moisten the strap’s electrodes, put it on, open DualGoals and start the reading. Lie or sit still and breathe normally for about 3 minutes. Take it at about the same time and in the same position every day. That consistency is what makes your baseline reliable.

When do I get my first readiness result? DualGoals compares each reading with your own baseline, so it needs a few mornings first. Your first readiness result appears with your 8th morning reading. Until your personal baseline is established, from your 22nd reading (about three weeks), results are marked as provisional. Take a reading on at least 5 of the last 7 mornings; with fewer, DualGoals shows a neutral result instead of a recommendation.

Troubleshooting

The strap isn’t found.

  • Moisten the electrodes and put the strap on. It only switches on when it detects your heartbeat.
  • Check that Bluetooth is on and that DualGoals is allowed to use it (Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth).
  • Close other apps that might be connected to the strap at the same time, such as Polar Flow or another HRV app.
  • If it still isn’t found, take the strap off for a minute and try again.

My sleep or workouts don’t show up. Check that DualGoals can read that data: iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → DualGoals. Sleep data from the Watch can take a while to appear after you wake up; open the app again a little later.

The recommendation doesn’t match how I feel. Readiness is a suggestion, not an instruction. Your body’s signals always come first. If a result looks wrong, email us and tell us what happened.

Your data

Where is my data stored? Only on your iPhone. There’s no account and no cloud. See the privacy policy.

How do I back up my data? Your regular iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or on a computer) includes the app’s data. When you move to a new iPhone from that backup, or with Quick Start, your readings and baseline come with you. Deleting and reinstalling the app starts from scratch.

How do I delete my data? Delete the app. All its data is removed from your iPhone. Data in Apple Health stays there.

How do I switch off usage statistics? Profile → Privacy & legal → switch off analytics.
